Hoo heads for Paul Hastings

The new partner to bolster its private equity practice in China and Asia.

Paul Hastings has announced that Maurice Hoo has joined the team as a partner in its Asia private equity group. To be based out of its Hong Kong offices, Hoo will be covering the arena in Asia with a particular focus on Greater China.

In signing Hoo, Paul Hastings acquires the services of an attorney with over 15 years experience, with a specialisation in cross-border private equity, venture capital and M&A. His expertise extends to US corporate and securities and transactions.

Hoo has also represented global private equity and venture capital funds, investment banks and strategic investors, as well as portfolio companies, in investments ranging from $5 million to $300 million, and in public securities offerings.

Prior to his Paul Hastings relocation, Hoo worked for Perkins Coie and Kaye Scholer in Hong Kong and with Baker McKenzie in California.

From his previous employers he brings with him associates Michael Hosokawa and Lung-Chi Lee, who are both experienced in venture capital, private equity, corporate and securities transactions in Asia and the US.
