Deutsche appoints Korea corporate finance head

Kee-Young Im takes up the new role.

Deutsche Bank has welcomes Kee-Young Im into the firm as its new head of global corporate finance, Korea. Im will also hold the titles of vice chairman of global corporate finance Asia and vice chairman of Deutsche Securities Korea. He will also sit on the bank's Asia Pacific global corporate finance operating committee.

Effective 17 May, Im replaces SE Ahn, former head of global corporate finance, Korea, who resigned from Deutsche in March.

Im will report to Lee Zhang, head of global corporate finance, non-Japan Asia, and chairman of Deutsche Bank, China. As vice chairman of global corporate finance, Asia, he also answers to Frank Nash, head of global corporate finance Asia-Pacific.

Im heads to Deutsche after a six-year stint with Samsung Securities as its head of investment banking. Before working at Samsung Securities, he worked for the Seoul branch of Salomon Brothers as managing director and country head for seven years. Im also gained experience with Bankers Trust in New York and Seoul. .

In a press release, Deutsche stresses that Korea is an important strategic market for its corporate finance department and that additional resources and hires will be required to properly capture the market opportunities.
