Standard Chartered appoints consumer banking head

The bank promotes Vincent Plant.

Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Vincent Plant as its new head of consumer banking. Based in Hong Kong, Plant will be responsible for managing and leading the business development, strategic planning and implementation of new initiatives for the bank's credit card, mortgage, wealth management and business financial services businesses.

Plant has been with Standard Chartered since 1991. Most recently he was CFO for consumer banking and prior to that has assumed directorships for the group's businesses in both Australia and Indonesia.

An Australian, Plant graduated from the George Washington University and holds a master of business administration from Columbia University.
