Aon announces appointments

Ray Everett returns to HK, while Robert Li shifts from JPMorgan.

Global financial services firm Aon has announced two appointments in its Hong Kong operations. Ray Everett and Robert Li will join forces in the compensation services side, with the former moving internally and the latter heading over from JPMorgan. Both have already begun their new roles.

From January, Everett has assumed the role of head of the group's compensation consulting practice. In the new role, he will take on three-fold responsibility for developing and extending new products and consulting services in the region for Aon's Mclargan Partners division, which focuses on financial services organizations. The other two prongs of the role will consist of similar initiatives for Aon's Radford Surveys division, which focuses on clients in the technology space, including high-tech, information technology and biotechnology and for the Aon Consulting brand, in which he'll deliver other compensation and strategic human resources consulting services throughout Asia.

In the newly created role, Everett will dually report to Brian Dun, Aon's global head of Compensation Consulting and president of McLagan Partners based in New York, and to Lawrence Lee, regional head of consulting - Aon Consulting Worldwide.

Prior to the new Hong Kong position, Everett was the New York-based global head of infrastructure services for McLagan Partners and McLagan Partner's Asia-Pacific (ex-Japan) head, which was also based in Hong Kong. His resume also includes positions with other consulting organisations in Asia and North America.

Fresh arrival Li, who joined in November, takes on the post of head of compensation services, Asia-Pacific and will be expected to provide information and advisory services through compensation survey products and consulting. In addition, Li will work to expand McLagan's traditional survey and consulting businesses in the region and assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of McLagan Partners in AsiaPac ex Japan.

At JPMorgan, Li spent the past six years as regional head of compensation and benefits and has also held regional management positions at Merrill Lynch, Citibank and at Watson Wyatt Hong Kong in a consulting role.

Li reports to Yoko Ishida, Asia-Pacific head of McLagan Partners and along with Everett, will aid Aon in developing a broader compensation consulting business in the region.

"As we endeavour to bring the best of Aon to our clients in the Asia-Pacific region, we are delighted to have individuals of Ray and Robert's calibre focusing on our Compensation Consulting offerings throughout the region," says Bernard Fung, CEO of Aon Asia-Pacific. "Our clients in a variety of industries will benefit from their valuable perspective."
