SAS Institute strengthens its presence in Greater China

SAS Institute, the world''s largest privately held software company aims to strengthen its sales and marketing effort in Greater China with two appointments.

Heron Chan is the new director of sales and marketing in Hong Kong and Southern China for SAS Institute. He will be responsible for the planning and implementation of the company's sales and marketing operations in Hong Kong and southern China. In addition, Chan will work to develop a more streamlined working relationship with SAS's Professional Services Group to ensure consistent delivery of services.

Chan has 15 years experience in the technology industry and was vice president of sales at Magically, a global application service provider, prior to joining SAS.

Reporting to Chan will be Queenie Tse, who is newly appointed as marketing manager for the company's Hong Kong and Southern China operations. She will oversee marketing activities such as market analysis, promotional communication sales support and channel partner liaisons in Hong Kong. Prior to SAS, Tse worked for Pearson Education China as a promotions specialist and at Time Inc. Asia as a business analyst.
