Deutsche Bank adds to its Asian equity presence with the hire of Philip Staveley from Merrill Lynch.

Deutsche Bank has announced the appointment of Philip Staveley as head of its Asian equities sales team in London. Staveley will report to Hong-Kong based Ed Peter, the bank's head of Asia-Pacific (ex-Japan) equities group.

Staveley, who's main focus will be to manage sales of Asian equity products to clients in the UK and Europe, joins Deutsche from Merrill Lynch where he headed the Asian sales team. His CV also includes employment with County Natwest, Vickers da Costa and Jardine Matheson.

"We are very excited to have Philip on board," comments Peter on Staveley's appointment. "He brings a wealth of knowledge to our sales team with over 18 years of experience in the Asian markets and is rates one of the top Asian product salespeople in the market."
