Pietersz and Lee on song at JPMorgan

JP Morgan has announced two new hires to its equity research team in Asia-ex Japan.

SH Lee, formerly head of UBS Warburg's research team in South Korea, has been appointed to head JP Morgan's equity research arm in the Republic. He has also been named as co-head of Korean equities and his main role will be to develop the broader strategy of the bank's equity business in the Korean market.

Meanwhile, Sriyan Pietersz will head the bank's Thai, Indonesian and Philippines equity research products. Along with Rizal Prasetijo and Ismael Pili, the respective heads of research in Indonesia and Philippines, Pietersz will develop JP Morgan's strategy for what it terms the TIPs region. Prior to joining JP Morgan, Pietersz was regional head of research at SG.

Both Pietersz and Lee will report to Peter Redhead, head of Asia-ex Japan research.
