Chow joins ING Private Banking

Edward Chow leaves Credit Suisse Private Banking for senior role at ING''s private bank.

In line with its commitment to grow its private banking franchise in the region, ING Private Banking has hired Edward Chow to head the Hong Kong market.

Chow joins from Credit Suisse Private Banking where he was among the first 30 staff to join a Hong Kong operation that has now grown to over 200. Chow spent six years at CSPB and was a senior vice-president and led the biggest Hong Kong team. He has spent 11 years in private banking and prior to CSPB he worked at HSBC and Citibank.

He joins ING as a managing director and will be responsible for managing the Hong Kong marketing team, maintaining client relationships and directing business strategy.

He will report to Sermon Kwan, who heads the Greater China region for ING Private Banking.

Chow believes he will be able to add value to his clients at ING - with its insurance expertise being one area where he suspects the Dutch firm to be able to offer structured wealth planning solutions.
