Yip to lead Ariba in Greater China

Former Deloitte consultant takes managing director role.

Business-to-business (B2B) eCommerce solutions provider Ariba has appointed Tony Yip as managing director for its Greater China operations.  Based in Hong Kong, Yip reports to Lawrence Wee, vice president and managing director for Ariba Asia Pacific.

Prior to joining Ariba, Yip was regional practice leader (Greater China) at Deloitte Consulting where he was responsible for establishing the Oracle practice with a focus on e-business strategies. Before that, he was managing director (North Asia) of JD Edwards World Solutions, where he built direct and channel networks across the region while developing the companyÆs North Asia operations from the ground up. 

"According to a recent study by the Boston Consulting Group, the value of AsiaÆs B2B transactions is estimated to reach US$430 billion by 2003," says Yip. "This is indicative of the vast opportunities present in the region and it is my goal to tap these opportunities and grow AribaÆs presence in the Asian marketplace."
