Citi promotes Khairi

Citigroup reorganizes its project and structured trade finance group in Asia with Saadia Khairi promoted to a new role.

Citigroup has revealed who will run its reorganized project and structured trade finance group in a wide ranging re-shuffle of jobs, responsibilities and business groups. Globally, the project and structured trade finance group is being split into two groups: the old project finance business is now called infrastructure and energy finance; the structured trade finance group is now called export and agency finance group. These two now fit in with a global capital structuring group and an asset finance group, all four of which form Citi's new structured corporate finance group.

Within that group a new position has been created called portfolio management, which looks after Citi's own balance sheet activities within the structured corporate finance division. Saadia Khairi who previously ran the regional project and structured trade finance team will now run the portfolio management group for the whole world, ex- Americas. Khairi will now be commuting between Hong Kong and London and will have a team of 16.

Khairi's old role is being split between three people. Stephen Ray will run the export and agency finance group based in Hong Kong. Peter Clark will run the Australasian infrastructure and energy finance group based in Sydney. Chris Jackson is moving out from London to run the Asian infrastructure and energy finance group.

Also moving out from London with Chris Jackson will be Keith Macdonald who will have a dual role as regional head for both global capital structuring and structured corporate finance. In this role he will run all four of the new product areas mentioned above, asset finance, export and agency finance, infrastructure and energy finance and capital structuring.
