Shanghai opens private equity door further to foreign investors

Under new pilot measures, foreign institutional investors will explicitly be allowed to raise RMB private equity funds through a fund management company based in Shanghai.

Approved foreign institutional investors will explicitly be allowed to raise renminbi-denominated private equity funds in Shanghai through a foreign-invested fund management company (FMC) under a new pilot scheme.
