State Street closes some securities-lending programmes
State Street Global Advisors will no longer use several Ireland-domiciled bond funds for lending securities, heralding an industry shift to a more costly, less lucrative structure.
Nearly two years after the collapse of Lehman Brothers brought the global securities-lending business to its knees, State Street, regarded as the biggest lending agent worldwide, is restructuring its programme.
