Given the scarcity of distressed deals, the threat of Volcker regulation looming and a shift towards flow business, Asian distressed prop book experts are no longer centres of attention.

It was a golden age for Asian distressed-asset prop desks in banks between 2000 and 2002. Times aren't so good these days.
