BarCap makes more prime broking hires

The UK bank continues to bulk up and take on the big players in Asia's prime services market.

Barclays Capital has hired Kevin Ho as Asia-Pacific head of futures in Hong Kong and expanded its futures product management team in Singapore with the hire of Seng Mow Leong.

The previous head of futures in Hong Kong, Rod Banus, becomes head of futures products and will continue to build the product suite in Asia, reporting to Ho.

Ho was previously at UBS where he spent eight years in various senior roles in the prime services and futures businesses in Hong Kong, most recently as head of Asian futures. He joined Barclays on November 2 with a remit to realise the firm's growth plans for its futures business in the region.

Leong, also previously at UBS, joins to strengthen Barclays' capabilities for futures electronic trading products.

These hires follow various others in recent months, including those of Ryan Bacher and Carlos Mendes during the summer.
