Asian fund industry to gain from Lehman layoffs

Matching supply and demand remains the key challenge. Job seekers from the Lehman talent pool will also have to compete with US- and Europe-based Chinese who are returning to Asia.

Executive Access, a leading Asia-focused headhunting firm based in Hong Kong, received around 100 CVs from Lehman Brothers’ staff on Tuesday alone. Multiply that by the number of headhunting firms in Asia and that means thousands of CVs from former and existing Lehman staff (many are still awaiting their fate) are floating around by now.

And this is a good thing for Asia’s asset management industry, where the chief complaint has always been the shallow talent pool.
