The global pandemic that rocked 2020 and continues to disrupt 2021 has put business transformation at the top of asset manager priorities. Other factors such as low interest rates, a continued rise in passive investment strategies, a re-evaluation of fee structures, changing client objectives and an uncertain macroeconomic and geopolitical landscape, all contribute. The role of the COO has changed, too, and is now responsible for navigating firms through this uncertainty, coupled with the added challenge of moving with regulatory changes, implementing governance structures and new technology systems. How should they approach this ever growing and ever more challenging role?
AsianInvestor’s COO Investment Week, taking place each morning over the course of three days, will convene the region’s top asset manager and owner COOs to discuss best practices in staying ahead of a crucial and ever-changing role, from managing talent to implementing technological solutions, and from developing data strategies to business transformation.
