Bank of AmericaÆs credit research guru relocates to London

Raja Visweswaran will help develop and grow the firm''s European credit strategy.

Asian financial journalists will feel the loss of one key participant in Asian credit markets. Bank of America's affable head of Asian Credit Research, Raja Visweswaran, has been relocated to London from Hong Kong starting this week 'to begin expanded research and credit strategy roles'.

Visweswaran, who joined Bank of America in 1996 to head its Asian credit research, will focus his energies to cover non G-10 international bonds and help develop and grow the firm's European credit strategy. He will also continue to manage oversee the Asian credit research team.

Supporting the trading strategies of Steve Gallagher, head of global high grade credit trading, Visweswaran will report to Peter Plaut, head of European high grade research, and Jeff Rosenberg, head of Global Markets Group credit strategy.

As Asian head of credit research, Visweswaran had responsibility for Asian credit strategy, sovereigns, utilities and general industrials. Prior to joining Bank of America in 1996, Visweswaran worked as fund manager for Pacific Century Group in Hong Kong. He has also worked in the risk and financial management team at ANZ Grindlays Bank in Mumbai. Visweswaran graduated from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, one of the most prestigious management schools in India, in 1991.
