Korea Awards 2016: the winners

AsianInvestor is pleased to announce its 2016 Korea Awards, recognising fund managers operating onshore and those providing the best solutions to Korean institutions.
Korea Awards 2016: the winners

This is the sixth year for AsianInvestor’s Korea Awards, and the country's funds industry has never been bigger, standing at $679 billion in assets under management, according to the Korea Financial Investment Association. Several of this year’s winners have enjoyed rapid AUM gains thanks to strong returns delivered over the past several years.

But the industry has also never faced greater challenges, including falling interest rates, fee compression and questions over the value added by active managers. AsianInvestor’s awards showcase real performance: although backward-looking, the awards do make the case for dynamism in the Korean funds industry.

Winners submitted written documents, and those shortlisted attended pitch meetings in Seoul with AsianInvestor editorial staff; some additional interviews were conducted by telephone. Awards cover services for both institutional and retail clients, except for the 'institutional solutions provider' categories. The decisions are made by AsianInvestor's editorial team.

Complete write-ups for each award will appear in the May edition of our print edition. Congratulations to the winners.
