Roy returns to Hong Kong

Andy Roy returns to Hong Kong to set up an LBO business for JP Morgan.

Aniruddah (Andy) Roy is set to return to Hong Kong to head JP Morgan's high yield bond origination and syndicated lending team. Roy was formerly the senior Asian credit officer with Bank of America in Hong Kong as well as being head of Bank of America's investment banking team for the eastern US. He moved to JP Morgan in New York in 1998 to fill the role of senior credit officer in New York.

In his new position back in Hong Kong, Roy will concentrate on linking the credit side of the business with the M&A side through the development of a structured lending business. He will develop high yield loan and bond syndicates as well as manage the underwriting and loan maintenance functions for sub-investment grade corporate credits. This will eventually become a fully-fledged leveraged buy-out (LBO) business in Asia.

"With evidence of an economic and financial rebound in the region, we see an opportunity to use credit more aggressively to support our client and restructuring advisory businesses in the region," said Bart Broadman, head of JP Morgan Asia Pacific, talking about Roy's new appointment. "With Andy, JP Morgan plans to develop structured debt solutions for corporates - including restructuring situations in Asia - to the next level."
