Retail funds maven Lee jumps to SG

HSBC Investments loses an experienced retail executive.

Sandra Lee, who had run the retail funds business at HSBC Asset Management in Hong Kong, has left to join SG Corporate & Investment Banking in a new position to develop the retail space in Asia for its structured products business.

"I believe that structured products can complement traditional equity and bond investments well in helping investors achieve their investment golas and diversify their portfolio risks," she says, adding that SG can leverage its global equity derivatives expertise adn the Lyxor alternative funds platform.

As managing director, Lee will report to Nicolas Reille, co-head of structured products and equity derivatives at SG for Asia ex-Japan.

Her duties at HSBC Investments are being divided. Bonnie Lam will take up the reins for retail funds distribution. Lam previously served as director for retail under Lee. The product development team will now report to Simeon Brown, COO. Lee is a respected figure in the retail funds world in Hong Kong.

When Blair Pickerell joined HSBC Investments as CEO, he wooed Lee to join him from JF Asset Management, their previous employer.
