Some 100 chief investment officers, investment directors and investment team leaders gathered in Hong Kong on March 1 for AsianInvestor's fourth Insurance Investment Forum.

Delegates at the Mandarin Oriental heard panel discussions involving leading insurance CIOs, who set out the need for a nimbler investment approach at a time of uncertainty. Another panel discussed the challenges of investing in infrastructure.

As well as joining breakout discussion sessions and workshops, delegates heard from speakers including Curtis Tai, director of ETF sales and trading at Jane Street, and Kishore Ramakrishnan, director of consulting at PwC.

Gary Kuczaj, Asia-Pacific head of global financial services at Willis Towers Watson, spoke of a need to review pay structures to hold on to key talent as insurers move into alternative investments and third-party asset management.
