LaSalle names Todd Canter CEO for Asia-Pacific

Canter relocates to Hong Kong in a move that underscores the Asia-PacificÆs growing importance to LaSalleÆs overall strategy. He remains the firmÆs global strategist.
LaSalle Investment Management has named Todd Canter as CEO for LaSalle Investment Management (Securities) Asia-Pacific.

Based in Hong Kong, Canter works closely with Asian portfolio manager George Noon.

LaSalle says CanterÆs move to Hong Kong reflects the continued importance of the Asia-Pacific region to the companyÆs overall strategy. Canter was previously based in Baltimore as LaSalleÆs international director.

In addition to his role as CEO for the Asia-Pacific region, Canter will continue to act as the global strategist and head of product development for the LaSalleÆs securities division. Canter has been with the firm for more than 13 years.

ôWe are committed to growing our already strong resource base in Asia-Pacific, continuing our tradition of providing local insights on markets and Reit management teams for every region around the world,ö Canter says. ôOur exclusive focus on real estate, coupled with our extensive resource commitment, positions us very well to outperform for our clients in Asia and all around the globe.ö

Canter recently authored a report that showed that property securities add significant diversification benefits to a mixed-asset portfolio.

ôAdded return without added risk, that is the power of diversification and that is the power of Asian and global property securities in a mixed-asset portfolio,ö he says.

LaSalle Investment Management (Securities) has $9.4 billion in assets under management, of which nearly $6 billion is invested in global mandates. This forms part of LaSalleÆs total global assets under management of $50.4 billion.
