JPMorgan books Storey from Goldman

New hire will lead the bank''s telecommunication research for Asia ex-Japan.

JPMorgan has poached Tim Storey from Goldman Sachs. Based in Hong Kong, Storey will join the bank as managing director and regional head of telecommunications research for Asia ex-Japan.

He replaces the recently departed Edison Lee, who has since moved to CSFB. He will report to Jose Linares, JPM's head of research for Asia ex-japan.

At Goldman, Storey was the investment bank's head of Asia-Pacific telecom research, a position that he held since 1996.

Commenting on the new hire, Linares says, "He brings an unrivalled knowledge and experience in the telecom industry to our firm and to our clients. Our regional team is delighted to have him on board and we view this hire as another significant indication of our commitment to having the strongest research franchise in the region."

The appointment continues on from JPMorgan's year-long research hiring binge that has bolstered the bank's capabilities across its Asian markets.
