DBS names heads of regional communications

The bank has appointed Darryl Dickens as its new communications head following the departure of Chuck Newton earlier this summer.

Dickens comes to DBS Bank from Scient Corp where he was managing director for marketing in Asia. Prior to this he worked at Burson-Marsteller, moving from Taiwan to Singapore to become managing director of corporate practise.

A Canadian national who has been based in Asia since 1987, Dickens has also worked at Investec-Coopers & Lybrand, The Chung Hua Institution for Economic Research and the Pacific Rim consulting group.

Commenting on the appointment DBS CEO Philippe Paillart says, "Corporate communications is an area central to the success of organisations in the 21st Century and its importance is only set to increase. To this end, Darryl fits well with DBS Bank's vision for world-class best practises tempered with a deep local knowledge and understanding. He brings important new capabilities to the Bank and I am delighted he has agreed to join us at what is a challenging, but exciting time."
