Bonny Landers vacates custody post at JPMorgan

Steven McCullough takes over as regional business executive for North Asia.

After four years as head of JPMorgan's investor services business in North Asia, Bonny Landers is to return to London. Her replacement, Steven McCullough, moves up the ranks within the bank to take on the post.

McCullough arrived in Hong Kong two years ago as head of client management for North Asia and has been preparing to take over Lander's role for sometime now. He has spent 15 years with the bank working in London, Luxembourg and Sydney. McCullough will report to the bank's regional head of investor services, Laurence Bailey, and will be responsible for all client management, sales and client technology in North Asia.

Commenting on the move, Bailey says McCullough has already had two years to get to know the bank's customers. "This is a natural succession plan," he says. "Steve is very familiar with the territories of China, Taiwan, the Philippines and Korea." Bailey says the bank's focus in the region will be to boost its presence in China and Taiwan while exploring possible alliances in Korea. "The Philippines has also performed surprisingly well for us this year, but clearly the focus remains on the big markets of China, Taiwan and, of course, Hong Kong."

While it is reported that Landers will remain at JPMorgan, it is not clear what role she will fill in London.
