Bank of Nova Scotia Asia takes on three

The Bank of Nova Scotia Asia (BNS Asia) has announced three key appointments as part of its drive to enhance and leverage the group's lending activities in the region. This follows the establishment of a new regional Treasury unit to invest and trade in Asian debt securities, and a centralized syndications unit.

Scott Clements has transferred from the BNS London trading desk and will take up a new position as managing director, treasury, responsible for all securities and interest rate management activities.

Ray Ho has been appointed managing director, syndications, with direct responsibility for all primary syndications both domestic and crossborder, in Asia. Ho has 20 years experience in the banking industry and was formerly the regional head of syndications for the Deutsche Bank Group.

Benny Cheong has relocated from the Taipei Branch to assume a new post as managing director, Corporate Banking, responsible for BNS Asia's corporate relationships.

They will report to Claude Morin, managing director & head of BNS Asia. Morin is a long-time veteran in the banking industry and has spent 20 years in the region.
