AdSociety sets up in Greater China with three senior appointments

AdSociety, the broadband advertising marketing and sales network, said it has appointed three senior executives to lead its expansion into Greater China.

Fanny Chu, appointed vice president for Greater China, joins AdSociety, a majority-owned joint venture company of Pacific Century CyberWorks (PCCW), from Stareastnet.com. Prior, Chu was vice president, Greater China at Star TV, responsible for international sales focusing on Star's Phoenix Chinese Channel. At AdSociety, she will oversee the company's sales operations in the Greater China region.

Philip Wong joins AdSociety as vice president for China. Wong previously worked for Phoenix Satellite TV, where he was deputy director of international sales, and has also worked for Star TV in advertising sales. In his new role, he is responsible for the overall business and operations for the China market.

Sean Wu joins AdSociety as general manager for Taiwan from DoubleClick Asia, a regional online advertising network. He has the same role as Wong, for the Taiwan market.

AdSociety, which operates from seven Asian cities including Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Taiwan and Tokyo, provides advertising, marketing and sales services to PCCW's Network of the World and PCCW-affiliated companies as well as online marketing solutions for advertisers and member websites.

"It is imperative for us ... to expand our investment into Greater China," says Patrick Wong, founder and CEO of AdSociety of the appointments. "Fanny, Philip and Sean have immense experience and understanding of the unique business needs in China and Taiwan. We are extremely confident with the team assembled, each bringing to the company their in-depth expertise, specialized market know-how and guan xi, to create the leading position in the broadband advertising landscape."
