Korea awards 2016: nominations open

We are now accepting nominations for our fifth annual Korea Investment Management Awards. Here we outline a few changes, the criteria and the timeline.
Korea awards 2016: nominations open

AsianInvestor’s Korea Investment Management Awards 2016 are now open for nominations and submissions. These awards recognise the best in asset management for both domestic and international firms in Korea across asset classes and strategies.

All nominations and applications may be submitted to Dr Lee Insup at [email protected] in English. We welcome individuals and firms nominating themselves or third parties. All submissions must be made no later than Wednesday, February 17.

Shortlisted candidates may be requested to make a pitch in person. We will be hosting pitch meetings in English in Seoul on March 8-9.

The winners will be announced on www.asianinvestor.net in the week of March 21 and the write-ups explaining why we chose our winners will be published in AsianInvestor’s May magazine issue. The award winners from last year can be found here.

We have made a few changes to our process this year to ensure these awards are purely about investment management.

We have removed size specifications separating public equity and fixed income fund houses, meaning large and small firms will be competing against each other.

And we have added an award for best alternatives manager, meaning the entire spectrum of investible asset classes is covered.

AsianInvestor’s Korea awards 2016
Eligibility: any asset management company registered onshore, whether Korean or foreign-owned. The product or strategy must be available to Korean investors.

To submit a bid for any of these awards, please provide a brief outline of why your firm deserves to win, including relevant performance data, asset gathering results and team experience. Please include track records over 1-year and 3-year periods, where applicable, in nominal and risk-adjusted terms (ie Sharpe ratio). All time periods for these awards refer to calendar-year 2015.

Submissions should be in the form of no more than a one-page Word document. Please keep submissions brief and to the point.
