Two Andrews are better than one

Andrew Cooper joins Nick Andrews to co-head JPMorgan''s ECDM business.

You may have heard of the Andrews Sisters (famous for numbers like Beat me daddy eight to the bar and Bounce me brother with a solid four). Now JPMorgan has two Andrews running equity capital and derivatives markets.

Andrew Cooper will relocate from London to co-head the group with Nick Andrews. Cooper was formerly the firm's head of derivatives marketing for the UK, Scandinavia and the Netherlands.

Cooper will base himself in Hong Kong, which marks a change for the firm. The previous co-head and derivatives boss, Paul Frost-Smith was based in Tokyo.

Both Cooper and Andrews will report to Carlos Hernandez, JPMorganÆs Global Head of ECDM.

"Our ECDM business in the region has gained significant market share during the course of 2002. With the hire of Nick Andrews in May and now the addition of Andrew's expertise on the derivatives side - we are well on the way to building the strongest capital markets and derivative businesses in the region," says Hernandez.

Cooper joined Chase Manhattan in May of 2000 as head of European equity derivative origination. Prior to joining Chase, Cooper worked at an equity derivatives joint venture between the Lazard houses and Credit Agricole, called CALFP, specializing in structured equity derivatives and their financing and investment applications. He was educated at Oxford University, where he received a degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics in 1985.
