Where:

Event Description:
Last month's blockbuster Rusal IPO illustrates the growing appetite for Russia as an investment destination. Rebounding oil & commodity prices, rising domestic incomes and spending also strengthen the case. Of course, as with any emerging market, risks to the overseas investor remain. With the gradual recovery in the global economy, the demand for commodities is expected to increase. Our inaugural forum will examine opportunities and challenges for Asian investors interested in financing the Russian growth story, including:
• The link that Hong Kong will play between Russia and China
• Capital markets opportunities: equity and debt
• Opportunities in Russian Distressed and Troubled Assets
• Capital raising opportunities in Asia for Russian companies: IPO outlook, bond financing, and private placements
• Real estate, including infrastructure and hotel opportunities
• Exit strategies and liquidity in Russian investments
• M&A – outbound and inbound opportunities
• Alternative investment in Russia – which asset classes or industry sectors present the greatest opportunity for
private equity and hedge fund investors
• Risk considerations: political, market, financial, etc.
Some of our speaking faculty will include:
The Honourable Ronald Joseph Arculli, GBS, CVO, OBE, JP, Chairman, Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited
(confirmed subject to schedule)
Neil MacKinnon, Global Macro Strategist, VTB Capital plc
Chris Weafer, Chief Strategist, URALSIB Capital
